Application Family Identifier (AFI)
The AFI (Application Family Identifier) represents
the type of application targeted by the VCD and is
used to extract from all the LRI512 present only
the LRI512 meeting the required application crite-
ria.
It is programmed by the LRI512 issuer (the pur-
chaser of the LRI512). Once locked, it cannot be
modified.
The most significant nibble of AFI is used to code
one specific or all application families, as defined
in Table 55.
The least significant nibble of AFI is used to code
one specific or all application sub-families. Sub-
family codes other than 0 are proprietary.
