The T2117 contains a voltage limiting funtion and can be connected with the mains sup-
ply via the diode D1 and the resistor R1. The supply voltage between pin 5 and 7 is
limited to a typical value of 9.5 V.
The series resistance R1 can be calculated as follows (Figure 7 on page 6 and Figure 8
on page 6):
